The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition is the department of the South African government with responsibility for commercial and industrial policy. The mission of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) is to promote structural transformation, towards a dynamic industrial and globally competitive economy; provide a predictable, competitive, equitable and socially responsible environment, conducive to investment, trade and enterprise. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is tasked to foster a competitive and innovative industry and services sector that contributes to job generation and inclusive growth; and to advance the rights and responsibilities of consumers. The SAEEC maintains a close working relationship with the dtic and its key sector employees.
The Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) is a major African Development Finance Institution, wholly owned by the South African government. It aims to support economic development, growth, and regional integration through infrastructure finance and development. The DBSA focuses on planning, project preparation, programme development, fund management, financing, climate financing, infrastructure delivery, and moonshot initiatives to address Africa’s infrastructure challenges.
ECIC is established by Export Credit and Foreign Investment Re-Insurance Amendment Act, 1957 (Act No. 78 of 1957) as amended. It promotes trade with countries outside the Republic by providing for the insurance on behalf of the Government of the Republic of contracts in connection with export transactions, investments and loans or similar facilities connected with such transaction, and to provide for matters connected therewith.

The Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) is a dynamic economic development agency in the Eastern Cape. ECDC reports to an independent Board of Directors representing all stakeholders in the Eastern Cape. The directors are appointed by the Department of Economic Affairs, Environment and Tourism.
